RUSSIAN WOMEN
IN ARBITRATION
an initiative aimed to promote equality and women leadership in international arbitration
One of the aims of RWA is to highlight achievements of women practicing arbitration and inspire young female lawyers interested in the field of arbitration and dispute resolution to embrace new beginnings. As part of the InspoWoman project, RWA will share short interviews with Russian-speaking women who have built successful careers in the field of arbitration in Russia and abroad. These women will share their experiences by answering a few questions.

Below you can read the interviews of those women with whom RWA Team already had an opportunity to talk. Interviews are in Russian and are published in reverse chronological order.
RWA INSPOWOMAN

OLESYA PETROL

Partner at Petrol Chilikov (Moscow)

Olesya has over a decade of experience advising Russian and international clients on various issues of Russian private law, including transaction support and representation in international and domestic disputes in both state courts and arbitration. Olesya has also been a member of the Council for Development of Arbitration at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

ANNA KORSHUNOVA

Associate at LALIVE (Geneva)

Anna specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as public international law. Anna’s main areas of focus are energy, mining, banking, international sale of goods agreements, corporate disputes, joint ventures and large projects. She also regularly acts as a tribunal secretary. Before joining Lalive in 2019 Anna worked as a junior associate at one of the leading law firms in Moscow and a research Assistant to Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler at the Geneva Center for International Dispute Settlement (CIDS). Anna is a member of ArbitralWomen, British Institute of International and Comparative Law, European Society of International Law and other organizations. Anna holds an LLM degree in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from the University of Geneva and Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.

ANNA GRISHCHENKOVA

Independent Arbitrator

Anna has over 20 years of international dispute resolution experience specializing in complex ad hoc arbitrations and arbitrations under rules of major arbitral institutions (ICC, LCIA, VIAC, SCC and others). Anna acts as an arbitrator in domestic and international arbitrations and sits on the panel of arbitrators of RAC, HKIAC, VIAC and AIAC. Anna is the Vice-Chairman of the Arbitration Commission of ICC Russia and the HK45 Regional Ambassador. She was also the Regional Representative of Russia at the IBA Litigation Committee and Member of the Board of the Russian Arbitration Center in 2017–2023. Apart from Russian legal training, Anna has LL.M. in American Business Law and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

YULIYA MULLINA

CEO of RAC, General Director of RIMA and ICLRC (Moscow)

Yuliya graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University Law School including PhD programme at the Department of Civil Law. In 2019 Yuliya was a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (Hamburg, Germany). Before joining RAC in 2016, she practiced litigation and arbitration in one of the leading Russian law firms. Since 2019 Yuliya has been heading RAC and RIMA, in 2023 she also became General Director of ICLRC.

OLGA TSVETKOVA

Managing Partner at Brevia Law Offices (Abu Dhabi)

Olga Tsvetkova is a recognized expert in international arbitration having 15 years of experience in handling complex cross-border disputes. Prior to Brevia, Olga led the international arbitration practice at EPAM Law, worked in leading U.S. law firms and headed the team of the Ministry of Justice of Russia responsible for investment disputes. Olga graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University Law School and obtained her LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) in Switzerland.

EVGENIYA RUBININA

Partner at Enyo Law (London)

Evgeniya is an international arbitration lawyer with over 15 years of experience. She has acted as advocate in international commercial disputes and has represented both investors and states in investment treaty cases. In addition to being admitted to practise in England & Wales as a solicitor-advocate, Evgeniya is admitted in New York and Russia. Evgeniya joined Enyo Law after 10 years at a Magic Circle firm in Paris and London. She has also worked for the ICSID and the PCA.
