RUSSIAN WOMEN
IN ARBITRATION
an initiative aimed to promote equality and women leadership in international arbitration
about rwa
In 2019, Russian Women in Arbitration (RWA) was established by Elena Burova, Veronica Burachevskaya, and Tuyana Molokhoeva to build a community of Russian-speaking female arbitration practitioners.

To learn more about the history, values and the mission of RWA, read an interview with the founders of RWA published in Modern Arbitration: LIVE News Journal and an interview of RWA Steering Committee to The Nest, an independent media platform.
The purposes of RWA are:
  • to serve as a networking platform for women involved in international arbitration and related spheres in Russia and abroad
  • to discuss challenges that female arbitration practitioners face in Russia and beyond
  • to share professional experience and discuss current arbitration-related issues
  • to organize conferences, seminars, business breakfasts and other arbitration-related events for female practitioners
  • to spread knowledge among young practitioners and students
  • to raise public awareness about diversity and equality in international arbitration in Russia
GAR Awards 2021 included RWA in a short list for the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge Award.
