We had a great pleasure to discuss Carolyn Lamm’s arbitration career path, the progress on diversity in arbitration and the ICCA Task Force on Gender Diversity and Discrimination. Carolyn shared her experience in representing parties in international investment arbitration and her views on the ongoing ISDS reform. She also told us about her teaching experience and White & Case International Arbitration LL.M. at the University of Miami School of Law.

We greatly enjoyed and got inspired by our talk with Patricia Shaughnessy:

"My experience is that nationality, geographic, religion, race and all of those things have absolutely no effect on intellectual ability, agility, ambition, talent. But it does affect opportunities. In the world of international arbitration, international law, international education, the bodies that we are working with should reflect that world".

"It is not enough to be invited to the party, or to come to the event. You need to be invited to dance, you need to be invited to speak, you need to be invited to lead".
